Sports massage has many benefits. Its primary aim is to restore full functionality to muscles and other soft tissues. This can be in the form of easing tension that has built up in the neck and shoulders from spending time at a desk or it can be in the form of restoring maximum performance to an over-trained muscle group of an athlete.

It is a varied treatment that can help treat soft tissue injuries, maintain a healthy body and help prevent injury. It also helps improve circulation and lymphatic drainage, bringing general health benefits. Some of its techniques involve slightly uncomfortable pressure on muscle tissue.
